The atlas records 80 data-center facilities in the European Union, and the 78 that report capacity total about 12,608 MW.

Where things stand

The EU AI Act is the world's first comprehensive legal framework for AI — a risk-based regime that bans certain uses outright, forces conformity assessments on high-risk systems, and layers transparency duties on general-purpose models. Alongside it, the recast Energy Efficiency Directive imposes mandatory reporting, PUE disclosure, and waste-heat reuse on any data center above 500 kW.
